The department manages a wide range of conditions, including refractive errors, cataract, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, dry eye, conjunctivitis, and age-related eye diseases. Vision testing, fundus examination, slit-lamp evaluation, tonometry, and minor ophthalmic procedures are performed using modern equipment. Glaucoma diagnostic evaluation including Automated Perimetry, OCT RNFL & ONH analysis, Gonioscopy, Pachymetry. Applanation Tonometry is performed.
Cataract surgery, including phacoemulsification & foldable IOL implantation, Glaucoma surgery, and other adnexal surgery, including oculoplastic surgeries, are also performed regularly. R.O.P screening is performed by an R.O.P specialist. Preventive eye care and early detection are emphasised, particularly for patients with diabetes, hypertension, or a family history of eye disorders. The department also guides visual hygiene, eye strain management, and post-operative care for surgical patients.
