1. PREFACE :
Expansion of health care facilities, growing complexity and advancement of medical technology have substantially enhanced the need for nurse, hence Sri Aurobindo Seva Kendra(A unit of EEDF), a hundred-fifty five bedded hospital, has taken the initiative to start a school of nursing in the name of :
SRI AUROBINDO SEVA KENDRA SCHOOL OF NURSING,
and its situated at:-
84 A, Sarat Ghosh Garden Road, Kolkata -700 031
2. RECOGNITION
SRI AUROBINDO SEVA KENDRA SCHOOL OF NURSING is recognized by West Bengal Nursing Council and Indian Nursing Council (New Delhi - 110002 ).
3. COURSE DETAILS
i. The course is known as “Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery” – (GNM)
ii. The syllabus for the GNM course is in accordance with the Syllabus and Regulations laid down by the Indian Nursing Council.
iii. It is a regular and Residential Training Course.
iv. The session starts from November 2023.
v. Seats Available: 25 (Twenty five only).
3.1 COURSE DURATION
GNM Training period is 3 years.
4. ELIGIBILITY
Gender | : Only female candidates. |
Age limit | : Between 17 to 35 years as on 31.12.2023. |
Educational Qualification | : Must pass (10+2) examination from any recognized board in regular class mode with at least 40% marks in aggregate and 40% marks in English. |
Language | : Able to read, write and Speak in Bengali and English. |
Residential Certificate |
: Candidate should be a Citizen of India & a permanent resident of West Bengal. |
The residential certificate should be duly signed by any of the Authorities as mentioned below:
*Gazetted Officer of the district
*Sabhapati of the Panchayet Samiti
*Sabhapati of the Zilla parisad
*Local MLA or MP
*Local Councilor
*Chairman of the Municipality
5. PROCESS OF SELECTION AND ADMISSION
i. Selection will be through WBJEE for GNM Nursing - 2023
ii. Medical Fitness:
a. Candidates should be medically fit. Medical Fitness Certificate duly signed by Medical Officer should be
produced at the time of admission.
b. Hepatitis-B inoculation and Covid Vaccination are compulsory prior to admission.
c. In case the vaccination is completed, a certificate from the concerned Medical Officer has to be
submitted along with the application.
d. The expenses for Annual Health Check up after admission, during the training period have to be
borne by the Candidate.
Annual Health Check Up - Rs. 1200.00
e. During the training period, in case of any unforeseen Health Problem requiring hospitalization
or surgical intervention, the presence of either of the parents / local guardian is mandatory.
6. UNIFORM
Students should wear uniform authorized by the SASK School of Nursing and the same should be purchased by the student themselves.
7. TEXT BOOKS
The text books and exercise copies and other essential stationeries should be purchased by the students, as and when required.
8. DISCIPLINE
All students must abide by the Rules & Regulations laid down by the Nursing School Authority. Personal conduct, attitude, self-discipline shall be given considerable importance apart from the Academic Performance. Decision of the School Authority shall be final in this regard. Training will be discontinued if any student is found involved in any illegal activity. Every student shall have to attend all (100%) practical classes.
9. LEAVE
28 days Annual Leave, 7 days Preparatory Leave and all Gazetted Holidays per year are admissible.
10. ANTI-RAGGING CIRCULAR
As directed by UGC (University Grant Commission) Anti-Ragging Committee has been formed in SASK School of Nursing. Selected Candidates will receive anti ragging regulations and affidavit formats, framed by UGC. Submission of affidavit duly filled in by the candidate and parents/guardian is mandatory before admission.
